Breaking: Chelsea Looking to Sign La Liga Starlet

Premier League giants Chelsea are now planning to make an official bid to sign Valencia defender Jose Gaya when the transfer window opens in January once again. With three defeats in the first five games of the Premier League, the west London side are now trailing current leaders Manchester City by 11 points. Some pundits have already stated that the title is slowly slipping out of Chelsea’s hands and their chances of retaining the title are less now.

However, that will not stop the Portuguese boss from strengthening his squad when he gets the opportunity to do so. After conceded the most goals out of all 20 clubs, a defender is a top priority with 20-year-old Gaya, being targetted. The youngster is already a regular first-team player for the La Liga outfit, having played 35 league games last term and helped them qualify for the Champions League.

The Spanish U-21 international has a €49m release clause though Valencia could possibly allow him to leave for less, which might benefit Mourinho’s side.
