What do you call a club who loans out over 25 youngsters every season? Loaded with talent. But apparently, Chelsea still do not have enough.
The Blues are looking to sign Thiago Maia from Brazil and have already begun the talks with Santos. Maia, 19-year-old, will play for Brazil in the Olympics and Chelsea wants to sign him before that as his price may shoot up after the competition.
The youngster has a contract with Santos till 2019 but the player’s agent is looking to get him signed to a big European club soon. Chelsea are looking to use this opportunity to secure his signature. Looks like a win-win situation for all parties concerned. Even Santos, who owns 100% ownership of the player unlike many Brazilian stars. Chelsea were also interested in Gabriel Barbosa but that youngster looks to be heading to Serie A or La Liga post-Olympics.
With their youth ranks already overcrowded, we hope Chelsea have a plan with these young talented players.
