Breaking: Arsenal Want Ex- Spurs Midfielder

Arsenal are monitoring Manchester United and ex-Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Michael Carrick’s contract situation with interest, in a hope to land him at the Emirates this summer as per reports from football direct news.

Carrick to wear the England jersey after almost two years

Carrick, 32, moved to Old Trafford back in 2006 and since then, the English midfielder has been a revelation for the Red Devils especially in the last couple of seasons. Carrick on the absence of Scholes has taken the responsibility and played to his potential.

Arsenal have been finding it difficult this season with the number of injuries they have suffered and signing someone of Carrick’s pedigree and experience could be vital for a title chasing team during the business end of any campaign. With a relatively small signing fee, Arsene Wenger could be tempted to move in for the midfielder.

However the big question remains whether, if Carrick wants to move on or would United be willing to let go on of their consistent performers?

Certainly the prospect of playing in the Champions League and the possibility of a new challenge could be tempting for Carrick. With his contract due in another 12 months or so, and the talks about a possible extension looking gleam, Arsenal could very well land Michael Carrick.
