Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal side were in the hunt to sign Real Madrid outcast Lucas Silva, though the Gunners’ hopes have now been dented with rival clubs looking to add the Brazilian U-21 international to their squad as well. The French manager has been keen on reinforcing his squad with some young, quality players and the 22-year old superstar would have been a good addition to his side.
Also, Spanish publication AS have now reported that La Liga outfits Real Betis and Levante have both made official enquiries about the availability of the former Cruzeiro star.
Apparently, the new Real boss Rafa Benitez has not been impressed by what he has seen and will let Silva leave the Bernabeu, just seven months after his arriving at the club.
Also, one more reason for his departure would be the fact that the former European champions are not allowed to have more than three non-EU players amongst their ranks, as per rules in Spain and the north London side will look to capitalize on that situation.
