Bournemouth vs Newcastle United predictions: Newcastle line-up

Somehow and out of nowhere, Newcastle United managed to pull of a miracle. They produced a comeback to beat what looked like a rather resilient Everton and scored three goals to win 3-2.

This win helped manager Rafael Benitez and the club’s cause to stop their battle with relegation and return to being an above average mid-table club.

However, they are still not out of the woods and while the Magpies do have a six-point cushion between them and the relegation zone, the next few games will be key to their survival.

The Toon face Bournemouth, Arsenal, Crystal Palace and Leicester City in their next four games and while they are tough fixtures, they have a slight chance to pick up a few points.

Callum Wilson has returned for the Cherries and he is someone the Magpies will have to keep an eye out for going forward, failing which, he will punish them.

Team News

Captain Jamaal Lascelles had to be replaced in the win over Everton, with Shields Gazette reporting that he was complaining of knee pain. Whether or not he could still make the line-up is something that hasn’t been revealed by Benitez.

Meanwhile, Fabian Schar’s tenth yellow card also rules him out of the next two games, meaning he will miss playing against both Bournemouth and Arsenal.

Other than that, the club will not have Sean Longstaff, Rob Elliot and Ciaran Clark available for duty, as they are all out with long-term injuries.

Probable Newcastle XI

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Rafael Benitez

Martin Dubravka (GK)

He’s been a consistent presence in Rafa Benitez’s team sheet since his arrival and with Karl Darlow’s struggles, the 30-year-old should keep his place.

DeAndre Yedlin (RB)

The American’s speed has been more than useful and he has improved leaps and bounds since his time at Tottenham.

Florian Lejeune (CB)

Has played most of Newcastle United’s games since Benitez switched formations and the Frenchman has done comparatively well for the relegation-threatened side.

Federico Fernandez (CB)

With Florian Schar suspended, the experienced former Swansea City centre-back should step in and comfortably replace the Frenchman.

Paul Dummett (LB)

Jamaal Lascelles limped off against Everton and Dummett did a relatively decent job of replacing the Newcastle United captain.

Isaac Hayden (CM)

When fit, the former Arsenal man has played in all but one game since mid-December and should keep his place.

Ki-Sung Yeung (CM)

With an injury ruling out Sean Longstaff for the remainder of the season, the South Korean has stepped in perfectly.

Miguel Almiron (RM)

His arrival has sparked a resurgence in the Magpies’ form and now all that’s left is for the 25-year-old arrival to score his first goal.

Ayoze Perez (CAM)

The Spaniard has been in great form since the arrival of Miguel Almiron and his well-taken double against Everton should see him keep his place.

Kenedy (LM)

On loan from Chelsea, the Brazilian started the season as a key player in Benitez’s side but struggled to make an impact. However, his recent form could see him make a return to the line-up.

Salomon Rondon (CF)

One of Newcastle United’s best players, the 29-year-old is their top scorer and while Benitez does have other options, neither Yoshinori Muto nor Joselu would be as effective as Rondon.

Siddhant Lazar

Tom Landry once said "Football is an incredible game. Sometimes it's so incredible, it's unbelievable." Football is and always will be the beautiful game. What every child understands, yet every adult struggles to, is that it is a game that defines the nature of the universe. But that's just me.
