Bournemouth signing this incredible Ligue 1 talent would solve a crucial problem in the summer

Bournemouth Opinions: Jerome Prior can be the number one at Vitality

Bournemouth are currently enjoying a fairly decent season and if it wasn’t for their extremely shaky defence, they could still be up there with Wolves and Watford competing for the valuable 7th spot in the Premier League table.

They currently find themselves in a pretty respectable 10th place but are unfortunately 6 points behind both Wolves and Watford, with even 12th-placed Leicester City being only 2 points behind the Cherries, the rest of their season has great significance.

Their current league position is down to their defensive record which shows that they’ve already conceded 48 goals this season. Compared to the rest of the teams in the top half of the table, they have the worst defensive record.

While this is mostly down to their defenders underperforming, there is another area of concern in the Cherries squad which Eddie Howe must be eager to address in the summer transfer window.

Their current goalkeeping options include two veterans of the English game. With Asmir Begovic’s future at the club highly in question after the bust-up with manager Eddie Howe (as suggested by the Mirror), the Cherries will then be left with only the 39-year-old Artur Boruc as an option.

The Polish international goalkeeper has become a seasoned veteran of the English game, having had spells at both Southampton and Bournemouth.

The addition of another goalkeeper is a necessity for Eddie Howe in the summer if they hope to improve next season. While there will be multiple criteria in Howe’s mind, a young keeper should be the preference.

The Cherries need to look no further than Bordeaux goalkeeper Jerome Prior for their ideal first-choice keeper. He is a French 23-year-old who has nailed down the starting role at this famous French club.

His reflexes and quick reactions have been praiseworthy and his 10 clean sheets from 29 appearances is an extremely impressive return for a side in a league as competitive as the French Ligue 1.

He has conceded 34 goals in his 29 games so far this season but that is mostly down to his club’s rather shaky defence. With the right kind of training and coaching from Eddie Howe, he has the potential to be a future superstar at the Vitality.
