Right from the start of this season, Arsenal have been struggling to field their strongest team due to recurring injuries to their main stars including Olivier Giroud, Mesut Ozil, and Mathieu Debuchy.
Good news for Arsenal fans is, Olivier Giroud is recovering faster than expected and will return to training in a weeks time. Giround was sidelined after undergoing an ankle surgery due to the injury he suffered during the game against Everton in late August.
Wenger confirmed the news today.
He said,
“Giroud joins in training next week.”
When Giroud returns to full fitness, he will face severe competition for starting spot from Danny Welbeck who has been in good form since his deadline day move from Manchester United.
Wenger also revealed that Jack Wilshere is back for Sunday’s game while Debuchy, Ospina, Koscielny and Ozil are still recovering.
