Manchester United have been linked with Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly since a long time. Louis Van Gaal tried signing the player in January and will again try and do the same.
According to CalcioMercato, Manchester United are ready with an offer of €18m (£14m) for the player, however, Napoli are adamant to keep the defender with themselves as they are ready to open talks with the player and renew the existing contract and extend it to 2020. The reports suggest that Manchester United tried to open talks with Napoli with regards to the player, which was declined by Napoli.
On the other hand Corriere Dello Sport, states that Manchester United tried to sign the player just three days before the transfer window closed but Napoli turned down the offer and according to the Sport, Napoli would not part with the player even if United offered £30m.
Although there are different sources reporting slightly different news, it is obvious that United are in for the Frenchman.
