Manchester United Transfer Updates
It has been three summers now that Nicholas Gaitan’s name has been doing rounds in Old Trafford, at least as far as the reports go. The truth of the reports though not tested, if at all is correct will come as a blow to Manchester United that the Benfica winger has signed a new contract which has increased his release clause to £32.5m from £25m.
The speculations on his transfer to Manchester United was around the players agent’s confirmation that negotiations are on going. Then it was again reported that a swap deal between the two clubs have been agreed involving Gaitan and Rafael Da Silva. Fresh speculations arose when Nani and Di Maria both departed the club. Now with the former PSV player Depay struggling for form, Nicholas Gaitan is again associated with Manchester united.
While Benfica has increased the release clause by £10m, should Manchester United decide to acquire him, it should not pose a big problem for the Enghlish giant. Van Gaal has mentioned several times that he would like to add some more “speed and creativity” in the team.
