“Bielsa has genuinely changed my life”, “Good to have you back Patrick”: Some Leeds fans celebrate gritty 1-0 win over Bolton + Match Report

Match report and Leeds United fans’ reactions vs Bolton

Leeds United won their fifth league game on the spin by getting past Bolton Wanderers 1-0 at the Reebok Stadium to get to the summit of the table with Norwich City to play later in the day. A returning Patrick Bamford scored the only goal of the game in the 66th minute to seal all three points for Marcelo Bielsa’s men.

It was a match of very few chances, partly due to the fact that the rain was incandescent throughout, clearly affecting the quality of football being played. Bamford, who returned from a long-term injury, was brought on in the second half with the Whites in search of a goal.

The striker didn’t disappoint the manager and buried a low shot from 10 yards to net the winner and sent his team top of the league, be it for a temporary period.

Bolton’s best chance of the game came when Jack Hobbs’ header was cleared off the line late on. This was the home side’s 12th defeat of the season, leaving them in the relegation zone in 23rd position, four clear of bottom-placed Ipswich Town.

On the other hand, Bielsa’s men are flying at the moment, getting impressive results to keep their hopes high for automatic promotion. They haven’t been at their scintillating best; today was another evidence of that. But the quality they have at their disposal shined once or twice in the game, which turned out to be enough to win.

Here’s how the Whites’ fans reacted after another good day in the Championship, safe to say they are an excited bunch:
