Between Arsenal And Liverpool: Which Team Would Best Suit Robert Lewandowski?

Robert Lewandowski

Fate can be so cruel, many may not remember but Robert Lewandowski, before he started banging the goals in for Bayern and Dortmund, was actually linked with a move from his Polish club to the Premier League but an Icelandic volcano eruption left him hanging at the airport and he couldn’t sign for Blackburn Rovers.

Imagine if that had actually taken place, what would have happened to Blackburn? Would they have remained in the Premier League? Would Robert become a world renowned striker? Would he have scored five goals in nine minutes? All questions that no one can provide answers to, well apart from the last one.

Robert Lewandowski, without a doubt is the hottest striker in the world at the moment. His goal scoring antics continued in the Euro Qualifiers as his last minute equalizer to dent the hopes of Scotland. His five goal blitz against Wolfsburg will be remembered for long as he keeps on going from strength to strength.

Lewandowski could have been a hit in the Premier League and had been linked with a move away from Bayern in the off-season but the way he is playing, there is no chance of Bayern letting him off. The Premier League does have a lot of clubs who could fork out the millions to sign Robert but which club would be the best fit for the Polish star?

Red or Blue: A tough choice to make

Every team would love to have a top striker in their squad; we all know that Arsenal and Liverpool have been in search of a striker that can bang in the goals for fun. Arsenal have wanted to get someone who can replace the often frustrating Olivier Giroud and Liverpool have been looking to get a replacement for Luis Suarez.

Chelsea are also a club who could do with some firepower upfront and Manchester United would love to have a proven goal scorer in their team. Looking at the performance of Lewandowski in this rather brilliant purple patch he has been in, it is a surprise or maybe not that he hasn’t actually scored a lot of goals from the outside of the box. In fact most of his goals have come in or around the penalty box, which shows his movement is close to impeccable.

In fact, a lot of his goals this season have been one touch finishes, his ability to finish is also second to none, volleys, acrobatic finishes, headers, tap-ins, and his arsenal has it all. His chemistry with the team is great as well, since he links up a lot with the other attackers but he doesn’t create a lot of chances. Robert is almost the perfect fox in the box, he doesn’t run with the ball much but he does get into great positions to finish with aplomb.

Lewandowski would be the perfect striker for the team which creates chances for him to finish, Arsenal could be the team that would love to have him on their books. The attacking trio behind Lewandowski could feed him passes till the end of time and he can keep knocking them in for fun. The other team that Lewandowski could actually work with is Liverpool; simply due to the fact the Reds signed Jurgen as their manager. Liverpool would end up playing like Dortmund played under Klopp and Lewandowski was the perfect striker for the team and formation.

However, signing the Polish international would burn a huge hole in the pocket of any team that wants to sign him and we can’t see Robert leaving Bayern any time soon, unless someone does decide to throw a lot of vulgar cash around, Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea could do that but would they?
