Best And Worst Rated Liverpool Players vs Norwich: Firmino On Fire

Liverpool Player Ratings vs Norwich

The game of the Premier League season so far, Liverpool won a thrilling encounter at Carrow Road as they defeated Norwich with a 5-4 win. Liverpool started with Roberto Firmino up top as Christian Benteke started on the bench and it was the Brazilian who started the scoring for the Reds. Norwich then hit back with three goals but Liverpool scored thrice to make it 4-3 for the Reds.

It seemed that the Reds were on their way to a much-needed win but Sebastian Bassong levelled for Norwich in the 92nd minute but Adam Lallana hit the ball into the ground and saw it go into the net sparking wild scenes of celebration.

We look back at a crazy game and rate the Liverpool players,

Simon Mignolet – 4/10

That five-year contract extension seems a bit of a crazy thing now but Mignolet was at fault for at least a couple of goals and Liverpool need to change their back five if they are going to achieve anything under Klopp.

Nathaniel Clyne – 6/10

Clyne has always been one of the more consistent players for the Reds and he was good in defence while he set up Henderson for a goal as well.

Kolo Toure – 5/10

One of the players that had a horror show, Toure should and could have done better for the first goal and even if we let that pass, these seems to be a lack of coordination between the centre-backs, which is not helping the team.

Mamadou Sakho – 5/10

Mamadou Sakho either looks world class or amateurish at the best, it was one of the latter games this season as Norwich were able to bypass the defence completely at times.

Alberto Moreno – 6/10

Moreno bombed up and down the left side of the Liverpool team and made his 50th appearance for the team though needs to do better if he is to keep his place in the XI.

Emre Can – 6/10

Part of a three-man midfield that went missing many times in the game, Can was nevertheless one of the bright sparks in the team.

Lucas Leiva – 5/10

Lucas is supposed to protect the back four but this was one game where he went AWOL for the Reds. The Brazilian did have a few tackles but that was not enough to stop Norwich from running past the midfield.

Jordan Henderson – 7/10

The captain scored a goal but that shouldn’t hide the fact that he was one reason why Norwich got so many goals.

Jordon Ibe – 7/10

Ibe was one of the better players for Liverpool in the first half but had to be replaced by Lallana in the second half.

James Milner – 8/10

The hard working Milner scored one goal and assisted Roberto Firmino with another and ended the match as the captain.

Roberto Firmino – 9/10

Roberto Firmino

The Brazilian started up top for Liverpool and he was exceptional, he took what chances came to him and should put to rest questions about his ability to play in England.

Substitutes:

Adam Lallana – 8/10

The Englishman might not be everyone’s cup of tea but he was excellent as he came on to score the winner for the Reds and sparked some wild celebrations.

Christian Benteke – 4/10

Benteke got a good chunk of the game to play in during the second half but didn’t really do much except knock Jurgen Klopp’s glasses off during the celebrations.

Steven Caulker – NA

Caulker came on yet again as a striker but didn’t have a lot of time to do much.

Special Mention:

Jurgen Klopp – 10/10

The German was seething with rage after being told of the five extra minutes and then almost blew a fuse when Bassong scored but went ballistic went Lallana scored and celebrated wildly with the team.
