The Best And The Worst Rated Manchester United Players vs Man City: Rashford’s Incredible Form Continues

Manchester United pulled off a bit of a shock as they defeated their rivals Manchester City at the Etihad thanks to a first half goal from Marcus Rashford. City could not hit back and now sit just one point ahead of United in fourth place in the league table.

It was a great performance by the United team that had been knocked out of the Europa League by Liverpool in midweek and we provide the player ratings for the Red Devils from this game.

David de Gea – 6/10

The Spanish goalkeeper was barely troubled by the Manchester City attack. He did have a couple of good saves though and was up to the task for the Red Devils.

Matteo Darmian – 7/10

Darmian had a pretty good game but was hit by a lot of cramp in the second half of the game and had to be replaced in the second half of the game.

Chris Smalling – 7/10

Smalling was booked early on in the game and did fairly well, though he would be blessing his stars he was not sent off in the second half for a second bookable offence.

Daley Blind – 8/10

Daley Blind had another great game in defence and even the introduction of Wilfried Bony was not enough to break the United defence down.

Marcos Rojo – 6/10

The Argentine had a pretty solid game at the back and was rarely threatened by Jesus Navas and company, he was replaced by Antonio Valencia in the second half of the game.

Morgan Schneiderlin – 6/10

The French midfielder was busy as a bee in midfield though you barely heard about the hard work he put into the side against City.

Michael Carrick – 7/10

Carrick started off in the heart of the midfield but was later shuffled into the defence and did alright, City couldn’t score and that certainly was a good sign for United.

Juan Mata – 7/10

The Spaniard switched his positions extremely well with the other United attackers and had a hand in the goal scored by the Manchester United youngster as well.

Jesse Lingard – 6/10

The English attacker didn’t really stand out with his performance but it was a decent job done in an impressive team display.

Anthony Martial – 6/10

Martial didn’t have the greatest game for Manchester United but he did his job well, ran the channels and also made it tough for the City defence with his pace.

Marcus Rashford – 8/10

Rashford’s incredible form continues as he scored early on in the game with a great move to blow past Demichelis and then beat Joe Hart with a low drive.

Substitutes:

Antonio Valencia – 6/10

The Ecuadorian had a decent outing for United and could play a vital role for them in the final games of the season.

Bastian Schweinsteiger – 6/10

The German midfielder was brought on to put a bit more bite in the midfield and did a decent job.

Timothy Fosu-Mensah – NA

The young defender was brought on to shore things up in defence but didn’t have a lot of time to do anything.
