Manchester United have sacked Louis van Gaal, with former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho set to be named as his replacement claims BBC.
Van Gaal signed a three year contract before joining the Red Devils and it looks like, but, he will be leaving after serving Manchester United for two years.
BBC also claims that former Real Madrid and Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is expected to take over the reigns of the club from the next season.
Manchester United recently won the FA cup after 12 years and it is said that, this was Van Gaal’s last game as a Manchester United manager and that news came as a blow for the players. While, on the other hand, there is no certainty of what future Ryan Giggs have at Old Trafford.
Van Gaal took control of Manchester United after leading the Netherlands to the semi-finals of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
The Old Trafford club finished fourth in the Premier League in van Gaal’s first season in charge to qualify for the Champions League. But they finished fifth in this term and will play in the Europa League next season. They only scored 49 league goals, too, their lowest total since 1989-90.
