Record Bayen Munich signing Javi Martinez was given an all clear after initial reports suggested that his injury could be a serious one.

Javi Martinez :

Jerome Boateng made an ugly challenge on Javi Martinez on a training routine on Tuesday. Boateng lost his footing in the slippery conditions and Martinez had to break off practice. Early signs suggested that he could be out for a long time but Club doctor Hans-Wilhelm Müller-Wohlfahrt subsequently diagnosed the injury to the Spanish defensive midfielder’s left ankle as a joint-capsule strain and he should be able to take part in full team training again on Thursday.

Neuer and Pizarro return

Goalkeeper Manuel Neuer and striker Claudio Pizarro were meanwhile both back in training on Tuesday. Neuer had a   stomach bug and he has shrugged it off while Pizarro recovered from a bout of flu. Bayern open Matchday 17 at home to Borussia Mönchengladbach on Friday evening and have their final competitive outing of 2012 at FC Augsburg in the last 16 of the DFB Cup the following Tuesday.
