Barry, Mirallas Set To Start: Strongest 4-3-3 Everton Line-Up To Face Swansea City

Predicted Everton Lineup To Face Swansea City

Everton will embark on a trip to Wales as they gear up to take on relegation-battlers Swansea City on Saturday evening at the Liberty Stadium.

The Toffees were handed a 3-0 thumping by league leaders Chelsea last weekend, which meant that they stayed at 7th position in the Premier League table. However, a win on Saturday could see them oust Arsenal and move into the sixth place at least temporarily, with the Gunners set to take on Manchester United on Sunday afternoon. The game ended in a 1-1 draw when the two sides last met at the Goodison Park in November last year.

Team News

Midfield mainstay Morgan Schneiderlin missed the game against Chelsea due to a thigh strain and remains a doubt for the clash against Swans. Apart from that, Seamus Coleman, Yannick Bolasie, Ramiro Funes Mori, and James McCarthy are the long-term absentees. Muhamed Besic is fit again but is yet to regain full match fitness and may not play a part.

Probable Everton Playing XI

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager: Ronald Koeman

Joel Robles (GK)

Koeman has started Maarten Stekelenburg in the previous two games, but after a poor outing against Chelsea last week, Joel Robles could be reinstated to the starting XI.

Mason Holgate (RB)

The youngster has done a fine job by filling in for the injured Seamus Coleman since last month. He will have to contend with the threat of Gylfi Sigurdsson this weekend.

Ashley Williams (CB)

The Welshman will return to his old stomping grounds and will want to put in a good display against his former club. He will have to deal with Fernando Llorente.

Phil Jagielka (CB)

The Englishman has been in decent form of late and will be keen on improving himself after a poor game against the league leaders last weekend.

Leighton Baines (LB)

Completing the backline will be 32-year old Leighton Baines. The English left-back has been an ever-present in the team this season and expect it to stay the same.

Tom Davies (CM)

The 18-year old youngster has established himself as a key member of the team since bursting onto the scenes earlier this season. A definite starter in the middle of the park.

Gareth Barry (CM)

The veteran midfielder was left on the bench against Chelsea. But he could be in line for a return to the starting XI for Saturday’s encounter.

Idrissa Gueye (CM)

The midfield trio will be completed by Idrissa Gueye. The summer signing has impressed in his debut season but endured a difficult game against the Blues. Will want to bounce back strongly.

Ross Barkley (RW)

The Englishman is nearing his exit with every passing week as his contract stand-off with the club continues. He will be hoping to alert his potential suitors with a good display.

Kevin Mirallas (LW)

Dropped in favour of the young Dominic Calvert-Lewin for the Chelsea game, the Belgian international will be in for a return this weekend.

Romelu Lukaku (ST)

Another player who is surely on the way out at the end of the season, Lukaku will be keen on signing off with the Golden Boot.
