Barcelona selling this highly talented 22-year-old would be their biggest transfer blunder in recent times – Agreed?

Barcelona Opinion: Barca should not offload Dembele

According to a report from Mirror, Barcelona forward Ousamane Dembele has been linked with a move to Bayern Munich.

The Bundesliga giants are keen on bringing the French Winger to Germany after failing out on Leroy Sane. Elsewhere, the Catalans are working towards the signing of Neymar and Griezmann, for which the Spaniards are ready to offload players in order to raise the funds.

This situation has left the outcasts like Philippe Coutinho, Malcom, Samuel Umtiti and Dembele in the lurch.

Dembele’s injury-prone nature has marred his potential

Without a shadow of a doubt, Barca struck gold when they announced the signing of Dembele, who was brought to Nou Camp to fill the shoes of Neymar.

Upon his arrival, the ex-Dortmund man was brimming with confidence, overwhelming skills but it was only flattered to be deceived when he saw the first of his many injuries that followed over the course.

After making his mark to the 2018/19 season on a high note, the French world Cup man still couldn’t gain his place as an assured starter under Ernesto Valverde, who often rotated the winger position between Brazilian ace Coutinho and the French youngster.

However, the 22-year-old’s impression didn’t last long before he relapsed to chaos with his behavioural concerns.

The Catalans should give Dembele a second chance

Regardless of all the odds stacked against him, Dembele has shown everyone a glimpse of his talent and the Catalans should forge the French man into a different figure by getting the best out of him.

Even though he was not in his heyday, the French speedster was still able to rack up 14 goals and 9 assists in the last season, where he often appeared as a substitute and missed out on a string of games due to injuries.

Final verdict

The Blaugrana should focus on building the future around young talents and Dembele must be a crucial figure in it.

Furthermore, at instances, he clearly showed a strong sense of compatibility with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, which indicates just how much he has evolved as a team player.
