Bakayoko And Rudiger To Start – Strongest 3-4-3 Chelsea Line-up To Face Manchester United

Predicted Chelsea Line-up To Face Manchester United In The Premier League

Antonio Conte’s Chelsea were dealt a huge blow in their Champions League encounter earlier this week but they have no time to dwell on it as they are back in action for one of the toughest fixtures of this season. The Blues welcome Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United, a fixture that ended in a satisfactory victory for the home side last season.

United are fresh from a victory in their UCL campaign and Mourinho is expected to come up with his own plans.

Team News

Danny Drinkwater is back in training but is not expected to feature in this fixture. N’Golo Kante, who is back in training as well is only a 50-50 for this clash. Victor Moses is still nursing his injury and remains the only other absentee for this game.

Formation: 3-4-3

Manager: Antonio Conte

GK – Thibaut Courtois

Was helpless in Italy in the midweek but things will not get easy against a decent United side this weekend and he needs to come back to his best.

CB – Antonio Rudiger

The German ace has been really inconsistent this season but he has been a regular under Conte and should keep his place on the left-hand side of the backline.

Antonio Rudiger

CB – David Luiz

The Brazilian had a nightmare outing against Roma and needs to improve his performance against the likes of Lukaku and co.

CB –Gary Cahill

The experience of Cahill is not helping the Blues but against United, he might be their biggest weapon at the back.

RWB – Cesar Azpilicueta

The Spaniard has frequently been used as a wing-back by Conte and with Moses still out injured, he should start at RWB, to add some mettle to Chelsea line-up.

CM – Tiemoue Bakayoko

The French international had a stinker of a game in the Champions League and it will be really difficult for him to pick himself up so quickly. He could once again be the weak link for the Blues.

Cesc Fabregas

CM – Cesc Fabregas

With Kante still not fully fit and Drinkwater just back to fitness, Fabregas remains Conte’s only option to partner Bakayoko in the middle of the park.

LWB – Marcos Alonso

Alonso has no real competitor for his position in the first-team and will be up against the likes of Mata and Mkhitaryan this weekend.

RW – Pedro

Conte has preferred the Spaniard over Willian and is expected to field him on the right flank.

Alvaro Morata

LW – Eden Hazard

The saviour for Chelsea last weekend, Hazard, needs to put in a similar display if Chelsea are to repeat their performance from last season’s fixture.

ST – Alvaro Morata

The Spaniard has lost some of his initial form and Chelsea need him to start firing again if they are to take anything from this game.

Here is how Chelsea might line up:
