Ayling Starts, Jansson Out: Strongest 4-2-3-1 Leeds United Line-Up To Face Brentford

Predicted Leeds United Lineup To Face Brentford

Leeds United will embark on a trip to Griffin Park on Tuesday night, as they gear up to take on Brentford in the EFL Championship.

The Whites suffered a 1-0 defeat against Reading on Saturday evening, which saw them slip down to 5th place in the Championship standings. However, Garry Monk will be hoping his team will be able to bounce back strongly from the loss against the Bees. The last time the two teams met, Leeds came out on top with a 1-0 win at the Elland Road and a similar result could be on the cards come Tuesday.

Team News

Luke Ayling will be available after serving out his two-game ban due to yellow card accumulation. Fellow defender Pontus Jansson remains a doubt following a hamstring trouble that led to him missing the game against Reading.

Probable Leeds United Playing XI

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Garry Monk

Rob Green (GK)

The veteran shot-stopper has been one of the star performers for Leeds this season. A sure starter between the sticks.

Luke Ayling (RB)

The 25-year old is available for selection after serving out his suspension and could walk straight into the line-up at right-back.

Kyle Bartley (CB)

The Swansea loanee did not have the best of games against Reading on Saturday. Will be hoping to put in a strong performance against the Bees.

Liam Cooper (CB)

With question marks hanging over the fitness of Pontus Jansson, it could very well be a possibility that the young Liam Cooper will continue in the line-up. A much-improved performance is needed from the Scotsman.

Gaetano Berardi (LB)

With Ayling returning to the line-up, we expect Berardi to slot in at left-back, meaning Charlie Taylor would drop to the bench.

Liam Bridcutt (CM)

In the middle of the park, captain Liam Bridcutt will keep his place. The former Brighton and Sunderland man did not have the best of the games against Reading but brings a certain level of steadiness to the midfield.

Kalvin Phillips (CM)

Alongside Bridcutt, a change could be on the cards with Kalvin Phillips coming into the fold in place of the 18-year old Ronaldo Vieira.

Stuart Dallas (RW)

On the right-flank, we expect Monk to bring in Stuart Dallas in place of the ineffective Hadi Sacko. The 25-year old has been used sparingly in recent weeks but could be in for a call-up.

Kemar Roofe (CAM)

Through the middle, Kemar Roofe could come into the playing XI, in place of Pablo Hernandez, who hardly had any impact against Reading.

Alfonso Pedraza Sag (LW)

The Spaniard has become a regular in the starting line-up in recent weeks and Garry Monk should certainly stick with him for the clash against Brentford.

Chris Wood (ST)

Up front, it will be the Championship’s leading goal-getter Chris Wood. The New Zealander has been brilliant for the Whites this season and has already netted 24 times in the second-tier. Surely the first name on the team sheet.

Here’s how they may line up:
