The 22-year-old had an overwhelming spell with the Lions this season, bagging a record-breaking 29-goal tally in the Championship.

Earlier, Abraham expressed his thirst for donning the Blues jersey next season and was confident that his present form would help him achieve it.

Following the win against Frank Lampard’s side, the English youngster once again sparked uncertainty about his Villa Park future.

He said, (h/t The Daily Express)

Yeah, [my goal remains to play for Chelsea]. That’s the team I have grown up playing for and I have been at since the age of seven,” he said.

“Making my Chelsea debut was a dream come true, and I want that feeling again and again.

“That’ll be the aim, and fingers crossed I will achieve it.”

Abraham has struggled to find a place in the Blues first-team as he spent subsequent loan spells with Bristol City and Swansea City.

However, his breakthrough arrived with the Lions this season, sending an emphatic statement to the Londoners.

“It’s been a successful season.

“I came here with things in mind to do: score goals and help take a team all the way to the playoffs.

Smith’s men suffered a slight dip in form at the start of this year before they gained the momentum which led to a string of victories.
