AVFC News: Tammy Abraham and Jack Grealish named in the PFA Championship team of the year

Aston Villa News: Aston Villa duo Jack Grealish and Tammy Abraham have been named in the PFA Championship team of the year.

Both players have been pivotal in Villa’ promotion push this season.

Abraham, 22, broke the club’s record by scoring over 20 goals in a single season, their first time since 1977.

The striker is currently on loan from Chelsea and waiting on a return to the Premier League next season.

His 25-goal haul makes him the second highest goalscorer of the Championship, at the moment, behind Norwich City’s Teemu Pukki.

Grealish, on the other hand, has been the driving force behind Villa’s recent run of form.

The midfielder made his return to the side from injury months ago at a time when Villa were struggling.

The 23-year-old made an impact straight away, helping the Lions pick up a string of victories.

In the process, he scored some extra-ordinary goals and played some beautiful assists as well.

Furthermore, his brilliant strike against Derby County won the Championship goal of the month.

Grealish is also said to be watched by England manager Gareth Southgate, regarding a potential national call-up.

His performances led to his teammate John McGinn labelling him as the best player in the Championship.

Dean Smith created history upon winning 10 straight matches and became the first manager to do so over the decades.

The Lions are now fifth in the Championship table and most likely to compete in the Playoffs.
