“Attitude fantastic”, “looking pretty good”: Some Leeds fans on cloud nine after 2-1 win vs QPR + Match report

Leeds United 2-1 QPR: Roofe double seals win for the Whites

Leeds United made it four wins in a row in the Championship when they came from behind to beat Queens Park Rangers at the Elland Road. Kemar Roofe scored either side of half-time in quick succession to turn the game around after Nahki Wells put the away side ahead in the 26th minute.

Roofe turned the ball in from close range in the third minute of stoppage time before half-time to equalise proceedings. Then Toni Leistner handled the ball inside the box to hand the Peacocks an opportunity from the spot. Roofe made no mistake and put the home side ahead decisively.

Whites keeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell made a fine save late on in the game from a Jake Bidwell attempt, helping Marcelo Bielsa’s men to a fourth straight win in the division. Wells also came close twice to equalise the game for the away side, but it was not to be for the Rs.

At first, the striker fired over from close range after Angel Rangel found him beautifully with a cut-back. A few minutes later, the former flashed an effort wide off the post from 20 yards, where should have done slightly better.

This win cemented Leeds’ position at second spot in the table, just a point behind Norwich City. They are now five points ahead of Derby County, who are third in the standings.

The Peacocks controlled the game largely, having 20 attempts on goal as compared to QPR’s 10.

Here’s how their fans reacted on Twitter after another impressive win, keeping their promotion chances on course:
