Atlético Mineiro: Arsenal Never Made A Bid For Bernard

Atlético Mineiro president Alexandre Kalil has revealed that Arsenal never made any offer for highly-rated Brazilian attacker Bernard.

In recent weeks, Bernard was linked with a flurry of European clubs – Arsenal, Tottenham Shakhtar Donetsk and FC Porto. But only Shakhtar Donetsk made a bid that matched Mineiro’s valuation. Atlético Mineiro already revealed that Shakhtar’s €25m bid got accepted and Bernard can leave if he wants to.

Bernard to Porto?
No Bernard deal for Arsenal

In an interview ( Radio Itatiaia), when asked about Arsenal’s interest in Bernard, Kalil replied,

“Tottenham made an offer of €18 million for Bernard but they withdrew. Arsenal told us that they would bid but never did so. So what we have now is a €25m bid from Shakhtar,”

Even though Shakhtar Donetsk are the favorites to sign the trickster, Porto are still in the race and are expected to make a new bid soon.
