Aston Villa’s promotion chances could be decided by this £25m star’s form this season

Yannick Bolasie could make a massive impact for Aston Villa this season

Aston Villa have picked up 9 points from their opening 6 games of the season and have looked impressive under Steve Bruce this season. The former Hull City manager will be aiming to take Villa back into the Premier League after making a number of signings to bolster the squad.

Villa signed Everton winger Yannick Bolasie on a season-long loan and the Democratic of Congo international is set to play a crucial role for the club this season. The 29-year-old joined the Toffees from Crystal Palace in 2015 for a fee of around £25million.

But the former Palace winger was unable to replicate the form that earned him his move to the Merseyside. Bolasie’s spell with the Toffees was largely hampered by persistent injury problems. The winger has only been able to muster a total of 29 appearances since joining the club, scoring just 2 goals.

A move away from the Premier League limelight should allow the winger to revive his career. The Congo international is one of the most skilled players on the ball. He is devastating with his direct dribbling and silky moves on the ball.

Though he is often deployed as a left-winger the 29-year-old is also capable of playing on the right flank. Bolasie can also be fielded as forward in a worst-case scenario. His finishing might not be up to the mark, but the winger can use his blistering pace to find spaces in the centre which he can exploit.

He possesses immense first touch and control on the ball. The Congo international is also very good at playing defence-splitting passes and provide the team with clear-cut opportunities in the final third. At the age of 29, Bolasie still has a few more good years ahead of him and a fruitful season in the Championship would be a win-win situation for both parties.

Bolasie was once one of the most feared wingers in the Premier League and the winger can surely bring back the from under Steve Bruce.

An excellent coach at bringing the best out of his players, Bolasie will flourish under Bruce and could have a massive impact on the Villans’ season. Villa have scored an impressive 11 goals so far and have looked cohesive going forward. Bolasie would definitely add more firepower to their frontline.
