Aston Villa vs Leicester City Prediction: Leicester line-up

Second-placed Leicester City will travel to Villa Park to lock horns with Aston Villa on Sunday.

The high-flying Foxes are on a terrific run of form, having won their seventh consecutive Premier League game by overcoming a stubborn Watford 2-0 during the midweek.

Meanwhile, an unfortunate Aston Villa suffered a narrow 2-1 away loss to Chelsea and would be keen to return home, where they have lost just one of their last six league games.

Against Watford, Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester kept another clean sheet – the Foxes’ seventh of the season, thereby maintaining their record as the best defensive unit in the Premier League.

Dean Smith’s Villans, on the other hand, are 16th in the standings, just two spots ahead of the relegation zone and would be keen to register a win to keep their hopes of continuing in the top-flight.

Team news

Left-back Ben Chilwell is expected to make a return to the side after sitting out in the game against Watford due to a hip problem.

Foxes manager Rodgers would be hoping that winger Demarai Gray makes a return ahead of the match against Villa, after being diagnosed with flu earlier this week. However, midfielder Matthew James, who has been troubled by a string of injuries this season, remains ruled out.

Predicted Leicester City line-up

Formation: 4-1-4-1

Kasper Schmeichel (GK)

The Dane will keep his place in goal and at present, has kept the most number of clean sheets this season, with 7 to his name.

Ricardo Pereira (RB)

He has been one of Rodgers’ best players this season and is sure to retain his place as an undisputed starter in the Foxes backline.

Jonny Evans (CB)

The seasoned campaigner has looked solid at the back and has played a crucial role in helping his side concede just 9 goals this season.

Caglar Soyuncu (CB)

The Turk has formed a formidable partnership in the Foxes’ defence alongside Jonny Evans and has put up a consistent show so far.

Ben Chilwell (LB)

Foxes’ manager’s first-choice left ball will mark a return to the side after missing their last game and would be keen to make a mark once again.

Wilfred Ndidi (CDM)

The Nigerian has been a commanding presence in their midfield this season. A key player under Rodgers, he will continue to play from the deep.

Youri Tielemans (CAM)

The young Belgian will function in an advanced position for the Foxes and orchestrate the play in the middle.

James Maddison (CAM)

Was on the scoresheet in their last game against Watford, taking his tally to 5 goals this season. He has so far been Foxes’ most creative player up front.

Ayoze Perez (RW)

Has been excellent in the final third and links up well with his teammates. Would be hungry for goals, having scored a few earlier in the season.

Harvey Barnes (LW)

The youngster has matured a lot this season and would be aiming to trouble the opposition with his good pace and work ethic on the left flank.
