Aston Villa beating Stoke to sign this promising 21-year-old starlet would sort out their future in a key position on the field

Aston Villa opinion: Should the Villans make a move for James Justin?

Aston Villa have had a rather entertaining season so far and there is still one game left for the Lions against Derby County. It will see former teammates John Terry and Frank Lampard battle each other in the race to make it back in the Premier League.

A rather incredible run for both sides will culminate in a final that should be entertaining. Aston Villa’s season has been anything but consistent, with the club dropping in and out of the top-six throughout the course of the season.

A change in manager changed their fortunes. The Lions soon found a rich vein of form and pushed their way back into contention. Whether or not Aston Villa make it into the Premier League, the Lions have to add the right players to survive in the top-tier.

The Premier League is, after all, a completely different animal when compared to the Championship. It’s why the club needs to start focusing on the future and adding someone like James Justin will help them do just that.

The Daily Mail has reported that Aston Villa and Stoke City are both keen on a move for the 21-year-old full-back, which should come as no surprise. Justin joined Luton Town’s academy as a young kid and has since progressed at a very rapid rate through their system.

He made his debut for the club against Aston Villa on the final day of the 2015/16 season and never looked back, making 114 appearances for the club since then.

A modern full-back, the 21-year-old is versatile enough to be able to play as a left-back or a right-back, he has even been used as a centre-back.

Not only that, his confidence and creativity in the final third, has also seen him used further forward. But it’s as a full-back that James Justin really flourishes, as it allows the youngster to showcase the best of his talents, both offensively and defensively.

While the interest is rather shocking given that Aston Villa have signed Fredric Guilbert, it looks like James Justin will be used as a left-back.
