Arsene Wenger has allowed his second choice goalkeeper to stay at AS Roma for another season long loan deal.
Wojciech Szczesny, who is currently replaced by Petr Cech as the first choice goalkeeper, will be staying at AS Roma for another year’s loan period.
Reports from Italy suggest that Roma’s representatives and Arsenal both have formally agreed to extend the player’s loan period at AS for another season.
However, the new deal will not include Arsenal paying a part of the player’s wages as they did during this season.
Although Arsene Wenger stated that he had plans for Szczesny during the next season, however if David Ospina manges to secure a move to another club this summer, Wenger will need to find a new second choice goalkeeper.
Szczesny has had a roller coaster ride this season and as of now seems like he will be facing more fit next season at the Serie A side.
