Arsene Wenger: Arsenal Must Make The Impossible Possible

Even after suffering a humiliating defeat at home in the hands of Bayern Munich, Arsenal manager still believes that they have a chance to qualify to the next round of the champions league.

Wenger: We will still fight

In his post match interview he said,

“Let’s not hide the truth, it will be very difficult, but we will try to make the impossible possible. “

“We will have to go there and play completely like we play at home and try to change the score. The third goal makes it very difficult but we have to try.”

“Our fans were fantastic tonight and I’m very disappointed that we couldn’t give them the win they wanted.”

“It was of course not the best of preparation mentally because the environment of the team was very difficult before the game tonight, but the players battled very hard, gave absolutely everything.”

“I believe the 3-1, the third goal, was a mental blow for the team because we gave a lot to (try and) comeback to 2-2, but at that level it’s difficult if you’re 2-0 down,”

Meanwhile, Bayern coach Jupp Heynckes praised his team for putting up such a performance,

Heynckes said,

“It was just easy for my team to play,”

“We are currently in astonishing form. Our quality is that we can punish even the smallest mistakes of our opponents.”

Is there still a chance for Arsenal comeback? Very, very unlikely, considering the form of  German leaders, Arsenal need to be at their all time best to stand an outside chance of beating Bayern at their home. But football is football and anything can happen.
