Arsenal’s left wing problems would not exist if they sign this £100m-rated Belgian star in the summer

Why Arsenal should sign Leandro Trossard from Genk

According to a report in Mirror, Premier League giants Arsenal are lining up a move for £100m-rated Genk forward Leandro Trossard. This update has arrived after the player’s agent revealed the interest from the Londoners.

As per the report (h/t Football.London), the Gunners have been keeping close tabs on the 23-year-old as they seek to bolster their attacking options for the future. Manager Unai Emery is looking to bring the attacking midfielder during the upcoming summer transfer window.

Arsenal have made a positive start under the new management of Emery and look good to fight for a top-four spot this season.

The Spaniard seems to be here with a big ambition and hence, evolving the squad in the right manner would be the right thing to do.

Here’s why they should sign the Belgian at the end of this season:

Arsenal’s need for a winger

Looking at the Arsenal squad, they are short of wide attacking players, especially on the left-hand side. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alex Iwobi have been deployed as left-wingers in certain games, however, the need for a genuine left-sided attacking player who can score and create goals in abundance is a must.

Trossard has scored 9 goals and supplied 2 assists in 12 appearances in the Belgian league thus far. He has netted two in two Europa League games as well. Predominantly a left winger or a left-sided forward, the 23-year-old can operate as a striker and also as a number 10.

He possesses terrific pace to go past defenders, can dribble in tight areas to open up space for a shot or a pass towards goal. The Belgian is basically a right-footed player, hence, he is comfortable in cutting inside from the left wing to become a genuine threat between the full-back and the centre-back.

If Arsenal do bid for him in the summer, their squad is sure to evolve to another level for the next season. From the player’s perspective, moving to a huge club in the Premier League would not only enhance his reputation as a player but would also give him the chance to prove himself on the big stage and justify his price tag.
