Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin vs Aaron Ramsey – Why Man United should sign the former and not the latter

Manchester United are reportedly interested in a sensational summer swoop for two of Arsenal’s superstars. As per a report from Daily Star, United are keen on pursuing Aaron Ramsey and a report from Metro has claimed that the Red Devils are also keeping an eye on Hector Bellerin. Now, both players are incredibly talented and the duo can add immense value to whichever team it joins in the future.

Arsenal have been facing several issues from the start of the season and their troubles don’t seem to be ending anytime soon. They failed to secure a Champions League spot last season and despite acquiring top-class talents like Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the January window, the Gunners continue to misfire.

Besides that, there is a lot of turmoil within the club regarding Arsene Wenger and his questionable tactics and the fans are quite livid as well. In such a situation, it comes as no surprise that both players are looking for options elsewhere but if the choice came to United, which player should they ultimately go for?

In Bellerin, they will receive a supremely talented right-back, who is filled to the brim with potential. The 23-year-old Spaniard, who currently earns £100,000-a-week, could fill a massive void at Old Trafford and act as a regular in that position for United. Jose Mourinho continues to use makeshift options as full-backs and he has been using Antonio Valencia at right-back so far. Bellerin can offer so much more in that role and hence, a move for him could certainly benefit the club.

On the other hand, Ramsey has been a pivotal figure for Arsenal in the middle of the park. Even as things fell apart around him this season, the 27-year-old has managed to deliver solid performances and he could prove to be a vital player for Mourinho.

But with the summer window fast approaching, United might be better off scanning the market to find a better midfielder. Given the situation at the club, the need for a new midfielder is of utmost importance – especially somebody who can thrive in a box-to-box.

Ramsey can essay that role quite well but he has been in and out of Wenger’s squad over the years, due to injuries, which could lead to problems for him at United. Fitness will be of utmost concern since United cannot afford to have a player whose form goes through several ups and downs – not in the midfield area for sure, particularly since they are already short of options.

Hence, it might be better for the club to look elsewhere for a new midfielder but when it comes to Bellerin, he is one of the best in the business and it would make sense for them to sign him.
