Arsenal and Tottenham are involved in one of the most thrilling English Premier League seasons ever. They are not only competing for the title this year but also for the bragging rights in North London. Spurs have never been able to finish above Arsenal since the time Arsene Wenger took over, hence the motivation to do well in the remaining 13 matches is even stronger. Finishing outside the top four would be a disaster for Mauricio Pochettino’s side, given the position they find themselves in right now.
We predict the outcome of the remaining matches and see who might well be ruling North London when the League finishes.
Week 26th
Arsenal vs Leicester City – Draw
Manchester City vs Tottenham Hotspur – Draw
Next weekend might just clear out many of the doubts regarding who will be crowned champions in May. Leicester will give a tough fight to their hosts but this match could easily end in a draw and the same goes for the other super Sunday clash.
Week 27th
Manchester United vs Arsenal – Draw
Tottenham Hotspur vs Swansea – Tottenham win
With both Arsenal and United struggling for form, we will see a goalless draw at Old Trafford between the two sides, while Tottenham should easily overcome a shaky Swansea side at White Hart Lane.
Week 28th
West Ham United vs Tottenham – Draw
Arsenal vs Swansea – Arsenal win
West Ham have lacked any consistency this season but they should have enough to earn a draw against Spurs in this mid-week clash. Arsenal should comfortably beat Swansea and restore some of the lost confidence.
Week 29th
Tottenham vs Arsenal – Tottenham win
This is the match, which could put some gap between the two teams. I reckon Tottenham will edge this one given how close they were to securing victory when these two sides met at the Emirates last time around.
Week 30th
Aston Villa vs Tottenham – Tottenham win
Arsenal vs West Brom – Arsenal win
Both the teams should easily win their respective matches and continue their march towards the title. Aston Villa are struggling right now and I don’t see any chance of them beating Spurs.
Week 31st
Everton vs Arsenal – Everton win
Tottenham vs Bournemoth – Tottenham win
Everton are a tuff team to beat at their home ground, hence we reckon that Arsenal will struggle to get anything from the game. While Tottenham should easily see out the new boys at home.
Week 32nd
Liverpool vs Tottenham – draw
Arsenal vs Watford – Arsenal win
Tottenham should be flying high by this time but a trip to Anfield will halt their charge towards a top four finish. Arsenal should have enough in their lockers to see out Watford, even though the visiting team has had some good moments this season.
Week 33rd
West Ham vs Arsenal – Arsenal win
Tottenham vs Manchester United – Draw
With the finishing line in sight, Tottenham start to feel the pressure and have to settle for a draw against a resurgent United side. Arsenal on the other hand have been here many times, therefore they will hold on their nerves and secure a close win over West Ham.
Week 34th
Stoke City vs Tottenham – Stoke City win
Arsenal vs Crystal Palace – Arsenal win
Stoke is always a tough place to visit and with the pressure fully on Tottenham, I expect the hosts to nick a draw here. While Arsenal will find it difficult to break down a solid Palace side but still they should manage to just cross the line.
Week 35th
Sunderland vs Arsenal – Arsenal win
Tottenham vs West Brom – Tottenham win
Both the teams should easily manage to overcome their opponents, taking the fight for supremacy to the end.
Week 36th
Arsenal vs Norwich City – Arsenal win
Chelsea vs Tottenham – Chelsea win
Arsenal will have no problems in dispatching a mediocre Norwich side but it’s the other match in London which will turn the tide towards the Gunners. A confident Chelsea team should cause spurs enough problems to secure a victory.
Week 37th
Manchester City vs Arsenal – Manchester City win
Tottenham vs Southampton – Tottenham win
Things will get a little bit interesting going into the final weekend of this season as Manchester City will defeat Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium. While on the other hand, Tottenham will successfully defeat Southampton at White Hart Lane.
Week 38th
Arsenal vs Aston Villa – Arsenal win
Newcastle vs Tottenham – Tottenham win
The battle between the North London teams goes right down to the wire, in the end Arsenal manage to just sneak above Spurs with a one point advantage, having finished with a total of 74 points. While Tottenham are left disappointed after finishing below their fiercest rival with 73 points.
