Arsenal vs Manchester United: A Dream Combined XI Featuring 6 Red Devils And 5 Gunners

Arsenal vs Manchester United

Combined Playing XI: Arsenal vs Manchester United

The business end of the Premier League always comes up with some exciting encounters in the last few weeks of the season. After being thumped at the White Hart Lane, Arsenal will face another tough job this weekend when they welcome Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United to the Emirates.

Both teams are fighting for a place in the Champions League and either team that drops points will move further down the table. Manchester United are unbeaten in their last 24 league games but Wenger’s side will be up for it as it could be their last shot at Champions League football. There are a number of impressive stars involved in this game and here is the combined lineup for both the sides:

Combined XI:

Formation: 4-2-3-1

GK – David de Gea (Manchester United)

Though Cech has been brilliant for Arsenal, De Gea has made some astonishing saves behind an inconsistent back line to get a place in this side.

RB – Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (Arsenal)

Wenger’s experiment of Oxlade-Chamberlain playing in this position in an advanced role should give the Englishman a place in this side. He has by far been one of the best Arsenal players this season and deserves a place ahead of Valencia.

CB – Eric Bailly (Manchester United)

Though Mustafi has also been decent, Manchester United have depended a lot on Bailly this season and that should earn him a place in this combined XI.

CB – Laurent Koscielny (Arsenal)

The French star is among the best in the business in the Europe at the moment and is an automatic choice for this position.

LB – Nacho Monreal (Arsenal)

Nacho Monreal has been one of the most consistent players in this position in the league. He hasn’t made the headlines too many times; an unsung hero.

CM – Ander Herrera (Manchester United)

The Spaniard has been one of the best midfielders in the league this season and has little competition for his place.

CM – Paul Pogba (Manchester United)

The French sensation is still settling into life in England but has improved recently and has been better than the Arsenal midfielders this season.

RW – Henrikh Mkhitaryan (Manchester United)

The Armenian winger is the creator in chief in the midfield for United and he should edge past Theo Walcott for a place in this side.

CAM – Mesut Ozil (Arsenal)

The German playmaker has not been at his best recently but he has been influential and knocks the likes of Juan Mata out for a place in this XI.

LW – Alexis Sanchez (Arsenal)

The Chilean winger has been the best player for the Gunners this season and has by far been more effective than any other player who is currently fit at Old Trafford.

ST – Marcus Rashford (Manchester United)

With Zlatan Ibrahimovic injured and the likes of Giroud and Welbeck out of form, Rashford has competition from Martial for this position but superior figures find the English youngster a place in this side.

This is how they would line up:
