Arsenal Transfers – 3 Possible Players That Arsene Wenger Has A Chance To Buy

The panic has officially been pressed at the Emirates. After surmountable pressure from the supporters, now the club management and manager Arsene Wenger have decided to scour the market and make some signings. The main problem with Arsenal at the moment is that a single or double signing in this transfer window would not help their cause to a large extent and they would require quite a number of players to pull their team up from the mess. Although much time is not left for them to make such an impact now, still they could sign these players now to vastly improve their team.

Will Wenger spend the cash???

Following their 3-0 win over Fenerbache last night, Arsene Wenger said:

“Quality-wise we don’t need anybody (in midfield) but number-wise we are short as I told you yesterday. We lost Oxlade-Chamberlain, Arteta and Diaby – three international midfielders. That is why we are short. We tried to bring one in but we are working on that.”

“It is like a poker game. People hold their cards as long as possible and see what is happening out there. In the end, they go for decisions. First everybody goes on holiday and nobody wants to do anything. Then in many clubs there are manager changes. They need to know the squad before they make a decision. Many, many things but it is always like that.”

So we try to think of three possible players Arsene Wenger should buy:

Iker Casillas

Not everyday players like Casillas are rumoured to leave the club. A reliable goalkeeper is exactly what the Gunners need and they should feel blessed that the opportunity of signing such a keeper has arrived in front of them. The legendary Spanish shotstopper now wants to leave Real Madrid for want of gametime. First Jose Mourinho overlooked him last season and now that same trend is being maintained by Ancelotti. This has frustrated the 32 year old to the point that he is contemplating a move out of the Spanish capital.  Arsenal should totally go for this player and wrap this deal as early as they can. But the real question lies whether Arsene Wenger will go for such a big player?

Edin Dzeko

They have missed out on Gonzalo Higuain and their hopes of Luis Suarez seem all but dead, leaving their striker problem exposed. In this situation, Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko would be a perfect man to get. The striker commands a certain class and a physical aspect, so vital for the Premier League. Although he started for the Manchester team during their match against Newcastle, it is understandable that he won’t be a regular there with Negredo, Jovetic and Aguero around. This may open the gates for Arsenal to sign him, although it would require a record breaking deal.

Alexis Sanchez

Barcelona have already sold Villa and Thiago this summer, making it extremely hard for any club to get near Sanchez. But they already have surplus number of forwards with Messi, Neymar, Fabregas and Pedro. If Arsenal can convince Barca this point and wave a fair amount of cash towards them, anything is possible.

And the latest reports from BBC suggest that Arsenal are out there looking to sign Real Madrid duo Karim Benzema and Angel Di Maria.

The Gunners are prepared to pay £40m for 25-year-old France striker Benzema after missing out on Gonzalo Higuain and Liverpool’s Luis Suarez. And the Arsenal manager is also keen to further boost his attacking options with Argentina international Di Maria, 25, who plays on the left wing.
