Arsenal Transfer Analysis: Cavani, Gotze And Zaha Linked, Which One Will Sign ?

The latest transfer buzz regarding Arsenal is all about the Napoli superstar Edinson Cavani. After Wenger admitted that he is interested in signature of Cavani and with all the reports saying Arsenal are ready to spend big this time, Twitter was the first place that went crazy. There were talks about Arsenal signing 3 players worth more than a £50 Million this January.

I’m sure you would have all heard the rumours on Twitter so there is not much use of going into details of it. Lets analyse the three players linked with.

Edinson Cavani

Cavani To Arsenal looks unlikely

With 16 league goals Cavani tops the goal scoring charts of Serie A ahead El Shaarawy. Napoli are currently in 2nd place just 3 points behind league leaders Juventus and well on course for a thrilling title chase in the second half of the season. Napoli are also in the knock out stages of the Europa league so it is hard to imagine why they would sell their best player at a time where trophies seems to be around the corner.

Naples have already turned down a £46m offer from a Russian club in late 2012 (Possibly Zenit) and will be able to clearly hold on to their striker at-least till the end of the season. Though Arsene Wenger admitted his interest in the player, he has also suggested that a move for Cavani in the January window is simply out of the question. And knowing Wenger a big money move in January is surely out of the cards.

Mario Gotze:

It is evident that Wenger is a huge fan of Gotze and when it is reported that he is ready to make big money moves, the young German is always on the cards. One possible way to analyse the rumour is to think of Wenger’s false promises to the media. You all know when the whole media is covering the Cavani story, Arsene Wenger could be silently dealing with the transfer of Gotze.

The German who recently signed an extension with Dortmund, apparently has a £30m release clause inserted in his deal and if Wenger is really in for the big money transfers, Gotze could very well be an Arsenal player. Arsenal to sign Gotze would perfectly make sense for them as he can play through the middle and on the right hand side of the midfield as well, allowing Theo Walcott to continue upfront. His creativity accompanied in the midfield along with Wilshere and Cazorla would just be lethal a partnership. Gotze and a £3.5million on Diame would add creativity and a much needed steel to the Arsenal midfield.

Zaha to Arsenal is an age old link. With the talents he has in his bag, Zaha will eventually move to a premier league. It is just the question of which club will it be. Talking about Zaha in his latest interview, Wenger said:

“We are looking at him, but at the moment we have not made any bid for him. I don’t know if Manchester United are in for him. Anyway, if you call any club for any player, they will tell you Man United, Milan, Real Madrid are as well in for him, but it is always difficult to know if it is true or not.”

Zaha could be the typical Wenger’s January signing, he is young, he has potentials to be a superstar, he is cheaper than all other players linked .
