It is a known news that Lyon turned down Arsenal’s initial bid of £6 million for their rising star Clement Grenier. But Arsenal are not yet ready to give up on the 22-year-old attacking midfielder.
Sources from France reported that Arsenal are preparing an improved offer of £10 million in order to lure Grenier to Emirates. Wenger believes Grenier has enough potential to be a world class play maker in the premier league.
When asked about Grenier, Wenger said,
“He (Grenier) has interesting qualities. He reminds me of (Samir) Nasri.”
“We are following him. His intelligence of play pleases me.”
Lyon are still adamant that they would not sell Clement Grenier for anything less than £20 million. They are currently in talk with Grenier for extending his stay till 2015. So, Arsenal’s improved offer is expected to get the same result as their previous one.
Meanwhile Arsenal are busy elsewhere wrapping up the deal for Real Madrid striker Higuain.
