Arsenal: Theo Walcott Contract Update – Player Likely To Stay !

Walcott likely to stay

Looks like it’s finally going to be the end of another saga in which Arsenal benefit. According to Sky Sports sources’ knowledge, representatives of the England international Theo Walcott met with Arsenal in the latest of a series of meetings held over the last few months today.

Theo Walcott just boosted his market value with a string of impressive performances this season and a hattrick against Newcastle to prove his consistency levels. Walcott after the Newcastle game said:

“I’m sure that something will be sorted very soon. I’ve always said I wanted to stay and I enjoy playing for this team. Now we will just see what happens. I will continue to play my football and let the people who look after me and the club talk to each other and go from there.”

Though the striker’s contract expires by the end of the season both Walcott and his manager have never really talked about other clubs. Arsene Wenger will be hoping his top scorer pledges a new contract  and by doing so Walcott will be the highest earner in Arsenal colors as the management are ready to go as far as £100,000-per-week.

Talking about Walcott’s situation, Wenger told:

“My desire is to extend his contract. He belongs here and hopefully we can do it.”
