Arsenal Suffer Major Injury Blow: Midfield Trio Set To Miss Champions League Action

Is Ramsey finally arriving at a good place in his career ?

Aaron Ramsey, Jack Wilshere and Mikel Arteta set to miss Champions League tie reports Independent. The paper claims that Ramsey and Arteta are certain to miss the Premier League clash with Chelsea on Sunday, with Wilshere also possibly absent for the game at Stamford Bridge.

With crucial games coming up thick and fast, this is not the best of news that Gooners would want to hear. Arsenal have had a mediocre start to their season with only 2 victories in their opening six games in the league and an opening day defeat at the hands of Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.

Arteta and Ramsey were both subbed off in the first half against Tottenham with calf and Hamstring injuries, while Jack Wilshere received a heavy knock on his ankle following a tackle from Spurs full back Danny Rose.

“I don’t know how long they will be out but they will be out next week,” Wenger said after the match. “I think Ramsey is a hamstring (injury), and Arteta is a calf. Wilshere is an ankle.”

“Suddenly, we are short because if we lost three players today, and let’s not forget we had already two out on long-term (Giroud and Debuchy) plus (Theo) Walcott, that’s six. (Abou) Diaby is not ready, seven,” said Wenger, before addng: “It starts to become a worry.”

Arsene Wenger might be left with an under performing Matheiu Flamini in midfield for the UCL game, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Rosicky are other options to play in the anchor role.
