Arsenal’s German army Lukas Podolski, Mesut Ozil and Per Mertesacker along with the rest of the team reached Berlin earlier today, where they were given a hero’s welcome. Joachim Löw’s men brought home their first trophy since the nation were united back in 1990 thanks to Mario Goetze’s well taken extra time goal.
The narrow victory agaisnt Messi’s Argentina lead to Germany’s fourth World Cup trophy. Arsenal had a strong representation amongst the German team and Mesut Ozil was a crucial member of the starting lineup, playing the entire course of the match in the finals as well.
