Given the squad and the players that he has at his disposal, Arsenal manager Unai Emery has made a lot of difference to the club. He’s changed the tactics, improved a few players and helped the entire club move on from Arsene Wenger’s rather incredible reign.
The Frenchman managed Arsenal for well over two decades and led them to great success. However, towards the end of his career, the entire club fell into a downward spiral, which has affected Unai Emery’s ability to manage the club.
His back-line is in tatters and needs replacing, his midfield is barely hanging on and the only positive is his front-line.
It seems that pairing Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was a sensational decision. Together, the two forwards have wreaked havoc in the Premier League and the Europa League.
It’s why the club have managed to maintain the air of a top-five club because conceding 50 goals doesn’t help anyone. That tally is the highest amongst the top-five sides.
It shows just where the club needs changes and English news outlet Football.London has reported that Arsenal target Jean-Philippe Gbamin is ready for a move. The 23-year-old has been previously linked with a move to Arsenal by the Express but nothing ever materialised.
Instead, both sides went their way and the Ivory Coast midfielder remained with Mainz. However, with Arsenal looking to add reinforcements, they’d be happy to find out that there are few players within Arsenal’s range that are as versatile as Jean-Philippe Gbamin.
A defensive midfielder by trade, the 23-year-old can play as either a centre-back or a left-back or even a right-back if needed. He has done that time after time over the course of his career and makes him very valuable.
Add that to his excellent passing range, composure on the ball, surprising speed and his defensive nuance, it would make him a great addition to the Arsenal midfield. That is with keeping in mind that there are rumours spreading that Mohamed Elneny will be leaving the club.
Besides his physicality and mentality, he also has great aggression. The English top-tier is a fast-paced and ferocious league to compete in as witnessed this season and any new signing will need to cope with that.

Arsenal need someone like Jean-Philippe Gbamin in their side, especially if they want to continue succeeding in the near future. The Gunners have a lot of quality stars at their disposal but Gbamin has shown the propensity and ability to flourish at levels much higher than any current Arsenal star.
