Arsenal signing this 22-year-old Roma starlet would be perfect for Unai Emery’s style of football

Why Arsenal shouldn’t make a move for Patrik Schick

According to the Daily Star, Arsenal have been linked with a move for Roma attacker Patrik Schick.

After a horrific injury to Danny Welbeck in the Europa League, the London club are now considering bringing in reinforcements. Schick has emerged as one of their priority targets over the last few days.

The 22-year-old has struggled to feature regularly for the Serie A side after joining them this year. A number of injuries have plagued his spell with the club. But he is highly rated in terms of his footballing ability and will prove to be a shrewd signing by Arsenal manager Unai Emery.

The Gunners have been in great form under their new coach and are yet to lose a game since the opening two weeks of the season. Schick will definitely fit into Unai Emery’s fast-paced expansive style of football.

Schick has made a total of just 5 appearances in the league this season and is yet to pick up an assist or a goal. But he has scored 2 goals in 3 UEFA Nations League appearances. Schick is generally a centre-forward but he is also capable of playing on the right flank. (Stats courtesy – Whoscored)

The Czech Republic attacker is very good at link-up play, which is another reason why he will fit in at Arsenal. He is more of a team player rather than a solo act.

The 22-year-old has maintained a pass success rate of 82% in the Serie A. He is more than capable of providing as well and is not just about the goals. (Stats courtesy – Whoscored)

Patrik Schick might be a good option for Tottenham.

The forward is also good with both feet and is very dominant in the air as well. The likes of Hector Bellerin and Nacho Monreal will definitely provide him with a number of chances going forward. Given that the Roma starlet loves to get into spaces and run behind the defenders, he will flourish at the Emirates.

Though he may have made an underwhelming start to the campaign, there’s a good chance the player will settle down in the Premier League.

Unai Emery is definitely capable of bringing the best out of him. The club seem to have taken immense strides since his arrival and his tactics seem to be on spot so far.
