Arsenal Opinion: Can Dominik Szoboszlai be Guendouzi’s ideal midfield partner?
According to reports from The Metro, Hungarian youth star Dominik Szoboszlai of Austrian outfit Red Bull Salzburg has attracted a lot of interest from Premier League giants Arsenal. Manager Unai Emery happens to be a loyal believer of the youngster’s capabilities.
When Unai Emery flew to London to take over as the head coach of this historic football club from legendary manager Arsene Wenger, various doubts were cast. But if his first season in charge is something to go by, they have brought in the perfect long-term replacement.
Emery took over at a club that were nearly left in shambles by the last couple of seasons under Wenger – a perilous period that saw a massive disconnect between the chiefs and fans.
The atmosphere at The Emirates has certainly been revived and so has the belief of the fans. The likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette have really stepped up and delivered for a rather desperate Gunners side.
The manager brought in a couple of players in the summer to try and make his imprint on the team. The purchases of Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi have both turned out to be masterstrokes.
The latter, who was signed from Ligue 2 side Lorient, has pierced the Gunners’ first team within his first season at the club. Still only 19, even when Arsenal’s showings have been poor this year, Guendouzi has been a shining light with his effective tackling and ability to read the play.
Emery has clearly proven that he has a keen eye for rare talents and this is exactly why Arsenal should do everything in their power to try and bring any player that he targets. As suggested by The Metro, Emery has locked his eyes onto Hungarian midfield sensation Dominik Szoboszlai with a view of bringing him to the Emirates at the earliest.
He is an attack-minded midfield player who can complement Guendouzi in the middle of the park extremely. His adept ability to carry the ball out from the midfield will suit Arsenal’s attackers while his intelligence off the ball will be a massive help as well.
Capable of picking out inch-perfect passes, his abilities are certain to light the Premier League on fire, considering that he has scored 13 goals across his 21 matches for various levels of the Hungarian youth system.

Conclusion
His movement and sharpness on the ball could extract the best out of Guendouzi, who will have a large chunk of responsibility taken off his shoulders. This move can only work out in Arsenal’s favour and Emery must go all out to pull this transfer off.
