Arsenal signing up this 6ft 4in Bundesliga beast would make them unbreachable at the back

Arsenal opinion: The Gunners should reignite interest in Jonathan Tah

Arsenal are in big trouble next season and they need to solve their problems before the season starts.

The club doesn’t have a lot of time and given their defensive issues, they need to act fast before something even worse happens so that they don’t get knocked off their perch as one of the Premier League’s top six sides.

The likes of Everton, West Ham, Leicester City and even Wolverhampton Wanderers all have a genuine chance for the final two spots. That should be a genuine concern for both Arsenal and Manchester United, especially after their performances this season.

Both sides struggled to make the most of their opportunities but for Arsenal, things could get worse. Their meagre transfer budget as reported by the Mirror will hurt the club but given the players that Arsenal have been linked with, it doesn’t seem as if they have just £40million.

Arsenal have been linked with moves for Yannick Carrasco, Joachim Andersen, Denis Praet, Kostas Manolas and even Donny Van de Beek. It’s a sensational rumour window so far for Arsenal but there have been no moves so far and given their defensive crisis, they need to do it fast.

They conceded 51 goals in the Premier League alone this season, which is the second-highest amongst the top-nine sides and the third most amongst the top-ten sides.

For any club in the world that is not good news and it’s why Arsenal need to reignite a move for Bayer Leverkusen star Jonathan Tah.

Linked with a move all the way back in December of 2018 by the Daily Star, this is a move that would do the club a lot of good. He became the youngest debutant for Hamburg before moving to Bayer Leverkusen.

But that’s not why Arsenal need the 23-year-old in their team. It’s his sizeable 6-feet 4-inch frame, combined with the speed and agility of someone much younger that makes the German a beast of a defender, which has earned him plaudits.

Combine that with his rather impressive footballing and tactical mind makes him a brilliant modern centre-back. His aggression and his physical status makes him arguably the perfect fit for Arsenal but more importantly for the Premier League.

It’s been a rather sensational rise for Tah and he has not only earned a move to a bigger side but he deserves one.

Conclusion

Arsenal needs defensive reinforcements and with time, they can return back to their former glory but only if they make smart moves in the window.

Adding someone like Jonathan Tah will help their cause and the German will become not just a perfect replacement for Laurent Koscielny but also his natural heir.
