Arsenal signing this Brazilian speed demon would solve a very important problem for Unai Emery

Arsenal opinion: Should the Gunners reignite a move for Douglas Costa?

According to English news outlet Express, Juventus star Douglas Costa is more than open to a move to the Premier League.

The Brazilian winger has been linked with a move to Manchester United over the last few weeks, with a report from the Independent adding that he has been included as a part of the deal for Paul Pogba.

While that deal should never ever be made by Manchester United, it shows just how low down in value, Costa has dipped. Things need to change for the former Bayern Munich star and a move to the Premier League would do him a lot of good.

But not with Manchester United, but instead it should be Arsenal who re-ignite a move for him. The Gunners were linked with an absolutely insane move last summer but nothing ever materialised as Juventus were not willing to sell.

That has clearly now changed and given their wide-attacker issues, the Brazilian would fit perfectly at the club. That has been Arsenal’s biggest problem this season, a lack of wingers to help Unai Emery’s system.

While both Hector Bellerin and Sead Kolasinac have managed to provide said width, injuries in key areas changed that and the way Arsenal played.

But the players linked so far to Arsenal this summer have been three wingers, including Yannick Carrasco, Ryan Fraser and Alexis Claude Maurice.

Yet nothing has happened so far, with things moving very slowly along the line. If nothing does happen, Douglas Costa would be a good choice as a fourth option, thanks to not just his top-flight experience over the world but his incredible talent.

His off the field antics have spoilt this season for the 28-year-old. But that still doesn’t take away from what he can do on the field and Arsenal know that very well. He was part of that Bayern Munich team that thrashed the Gunners on two separate occasions.

Costa has made a mockery of right-back Hector Bellerin on more than a few times. His searing speed combined with a bag of tricks and the brain to know when to use him makes him better than any average winger, it’s why he’s playing for Juventus.

Add that to his creative nuance in the final third, a left-foot that releases rockets from range and versatility to play across the frontline will only help the club out.

Arsenal have been crying out for a proper winger and now that they have two incredible frontmen, they need someone like Costa helping out.

Arsenal are crying out for a bonafide wide-attacker but while Alex Iwobi and Henrikh Mkhitaryan have done well, they are not enough.

It’s exactly where someone like Douglas Costa will help and adding someone like the Brazilian will effectively help the club flourish under Unai Emery.

Football is and always will be the beautiful game. What every child understands, yet every adult struggles to, is that it is a game that defines the nature of the universe. But that's just me.
