Arsenal Set Lose Walcott And Llorente To Juventus

Arsenal are set to lose their contract rebel Walcott and long term target Fernando Llorente to Italian giants Juventus. The news leaked by Daily Mirror is now all over the internet and it could be true that the Gunners may lose the duo during the January transfer window. The Spanish International is serving his last year of his contract with Athletic Bilbao and has been on Arsenal’s radar ever since he announced his desire to leave the club.

Juventus, who were also interested in singing Llorente are now ready to offer a provisional contract of 145,000 pounds ($225,000) a week. This could tempt the player to switch to the Seria A outfit as Arsenal will not provide such wages. This will make Llorente the club’s highest paid player along side Buffon. And if Arsenal have to get anywhere near the Spaniard, they have to break their wage structure, which is highly unlikely.

And in other reports Juventus are also tracking the situation of Winger Theo Walcott and if he denies the contract offered by Arsenal, the England International could well be on his way to the Turnin club. Juventus who wanted Robin Van Persie this summer, missed out on the player to Manchester United and this time they would want to lay their hands on Walcott before he extends his contract with the Gunners. Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger has always beleived that Walcott will stay at the Emirates, though there is not much progression in the contract talks.

“They [talks] are going on, but there is no news about that. My determination has always been the same, to extend his contract. That other clubs are interested or not, the determination is the same.”

“The good news is that Theo had his first run today and is looking quite well, so he should be back shortly.” – Wenger was quoted in press yesterday.

Arsenal will be forced to sell yet another star this January if the player decides not to extend his contract and Juve manager Antonio Conte, who is looking to bolster his attacking lin-up is certain that he will end up with Walcott this winter and has claimed that the England International is his top target along side Fernando LLorente.
