Arsenal fans have always criticized their club’s transfer policies for indecisiveness and not willing to spend the right amount of money needed. The trend is still on going as the Gunners have lost another target to AS Monaco.
The Ligue 1 club has announced the signing of Djibril Sidibe from Lille. The 23 year old can play as left back or right back and given that Kieran Gibbs is likely to leave Emirates, Gunners should have wrapped up the signing. The English club had made an offer but it appears to have been too late and too little to change the momentum of the move. The late offer was of little impact as Monaco has secured the signing and has also announced the same on social media.
After years of criticism for weak defense, Gunners had finally had a decent defensive unit last season but if the club lets experienced players like Gibbs leave and not find a suitable replacement, the history of falling behind could be repeated.
