Arsenal Player Ratings vs West Ham: Iwobi Shines Again (Match Highlights Included)

Arsenal Player Ratings vs West Ham

West Ham and Arsenal played out an incredible 3-3 draw at the Boleyn Ground, the last time these two sides would meet before West Ham moved to the Olympic Park next season. Arsenal were 2-0 up thanks to goals from Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil but it was the Andy Carroll show post that.

The former Liverpool striker scored a brace just before half-time and then scored a header to complete his hat-trick and also give West Ham the lead. Arsenal were saved by an equaliser from Laurent Koscielny in the 70th minute.

The draw helped neither team as Arsenal lost further ground on Leicester while West Ham couldn’t make it closer to the top four. We look back at a cracking game and rate the Arsenal performance.

David Ospina – 6/10

The goalkeeper couldn’t really do much to keep any of Carroll’s goals out but that’s how football goes.

Hector Bellerin – 6/10

A rather poor showing by the talented Spaniard, Bellerin just could not get into the game and failed to provide much for Arsenal.

Gabriel – 4/10

The Brazilian was really poor in this game and was at fault for a couple of goals.

Laurent Koscielny – 6/10

Koscielny was scythed down by Carroll early in the game but trudged on. He might not have been able to keep West Ham out but he did score an important goal for Arsenal.

Nacho Monreal – 5/10

Even the normally reliable defender had a poor outing against Dmitri Payet’s team.

Mohamed Elneny – 5/10

Elneny didn’t have the greatest game for Arsenal and didn’t really do much of note for the Gunner as well.

Francis Coquelin – 5/10

The French midfielder was another player who had a bit of an off day and couldn’t really get into the game.

Alexis Sanchez – 6/10

The Chilean did score the second goal for Arsenal but to be honest, that was all that he did, he needs to do more for the team.

Mesut Ozil – 6/10

The German gave Arsenal the lead but that seemed to be his only contribution to the Gunners.

Alex Iwobi – 7/10

Alex Iwobi, Arsenal
Alex Iwobi, Arsenal

Another great performance from the Nigerian, Iwobi was the man who provided both assists and was a threat to the West Ham defence.

Danny Welbeck – 5/10

Was he even playing? Another poor showing from the English forward but most of the Arsenal players had a poor day.

Substitutes:

Olivier Giroud – 5/10

Giroud was brought in to give Arsenal an extra attacking threat but he couldn’t find the back of the net.

Aaron Ramsey – 5/10

Ramsey did come on in the second half but didn’t really provide much in the game.

Theo Walcott – NA

Walcott didn’t really have a lot of time to do much in the game.
