Arsenal Player Ratings vs West Brom – Magical Cazorla Back To Form

Arsenal Player Ratings vs West Brom

It was a crucial win for the Gunners as they grabbed a narrow 1-0 win away at West Bromwich Albion. The match which was a rather cagey affair at times needed a moment of brilliance from Cazorla and Welbeck to clinch the three points in Saturday’s early kick off. Here are the ratings for Arsenal players.

Damien Martinez: 6/10

Relatively untested. Had to make one decent save in the match but Arsenal defence was well up to the task to protect the reserve goalkeeper.

Calum Chambers: 6.5/10

He was well involved in the game and worked hard. His passing and contribution in attack was also decent and didn’t commit errors in a routine performance.

Per Mertesacker: 7/10

He had a good game at the back and was a wall for WBA players. He lifted his game from usual levels as he got his partner back from injury. Overall, he would like to maintain this level of consistency for the Gunners.

Laurent Koscielny: 7/10

He was great on his return from injury. His partnership with Mertesacker was rock solid unlike the other day when Monreal was deputising for him at Central defence.

Nacho Monreal: 5/10

He spent a brief period of 23 mins on the pitch before suffering a knock in his muscles and being substituted.

Mathieu Flamini: 6.5/10

He did what was asked of him, presumably tracking back and helping out the defence and the midfield. His passing was good as he had a decent game.

Aaron Ramsey: 5/10

He was trying hard to get on the score-sheet but wasn’t at his best. Looked a dis-joined piece in the midfield and we all know he could do better, with reference to his last season.

Santi Cazorla: 9/10 MOTM

He is the man of the match for the Gunners. Looks like he is back to his best form. He was involved in the attacks all the time and had shots on goal that were saved by Foster. He then when on with a great run to deliver a perfect cross for Welbeck to head in the winner.

Alexis Sanchez: 6/10

The work rate was there as usual but he was not a consistent goal threat. He had some hopeful shots on goal but only one on target. He had a decent game but didn’t stand out.

Danny Welbeck: 8/10

He would have loved the headed goal he scored. Apart from that, Welbeck played well as he shifted his position time and again as he was started from the Right Flank. He got a chance early on as well, but couldn’t score.

Olivier Giroud: 6.5/10

He had a decent game as this was his first start after his injury return. Couldn’t score due to a tight angle after dispossessing Foster at goal.

Keiran Gibbs: 6.5/10

A decent game for the English left back as he replaced Monreal in the first half it self. He dealt well with Brunt.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain: 6/10

He came on as a late sub for Giroud and had a routine performance.
