The Fabulous Five: The Best And Worst Rated Arsenal Players Vs Lincoln City

Arsenal breezed past fifth tier club Lincoln City on Saturday to book their spot in the FA Cup Semi-finals and crushed the fairy-tale run of the visitors. Walcott, Sanchez, Ramsey and Giroud were all on the scoresheet as the Gunners beat their non-league opponents 5-0. It was a completely one way traffic and here’s how the Arsenal players fared.

Arsenal Player Ratings

Petr Cech – 6/10

Did not have much to do in the Arsenal goal as the game was dominated by the home side. However, the veteran keeper made a strong save to keep out Arnold’s effort.

Shkodran Mustafi – 6/10

Initially had a few problems in dealing with Rhead, but managed to win most of the battles and settled down later on in the game.

Kieran Gibbs – 7/10

Was instrumental in forcing Waterfall’s own goal and set up Walcott for the opener. He also kept his defensive duties on check.

Laurent Koscielny – 6/10

The Frenchman was strong and solid at the back and he wasn’t caused too many problems. He asserted the fact as to why he is so important to the team.

Hector Bellerin – 7/10

The right back was playing most of his football in the attacking half and he linked up well with Sanchez to cross for Giroud’s goal after an overlapping run. He caused problems to his opponents with his pace.

Aaron Ramsey – 7/10

Missed a couple of chances to score In the first half but was still calm and poised overall. Rounded the keeper off to add Arsenal’s fifth of the evening.

Granit Xhaka – 5/10

Was a bit reckless in his challenges and that earned him a yellow in the first half. However, he looked confident with his passing in midfield.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – 6/10

Had to be subbed off early due to injury. He looked bright from the start of the game and was unlucky to be taken off.

Alexis Sanchez – 9/10

Scored a beauty of a goal as he curled the ball past the Lincoln keeper. He also set up Ramsey for his goal and was an attacking threat throughout the game.

Theo Walcott – 8/10

Scored the opener through the aid of a deflection just before half-time and had a good game despite not being able to carve out many chances.

Olivier Giroud – 7/10

Was clumsy on a few occasions but when it mattered, he was on hand to double Arsenal’s advantage. He tried to make a big impact and was strong with his body.

Substitutes:

Mesut Ozil – 7/10

The German came on for Chamberlain and completely changed Arsenal’s gameplay. He grabbed an assist and showcased his vision and passing.

Francis Coquelin – 5/10

Made some strange challenges when it was not required but tucked in well in the midfield.

Lucas Perez – 6/10

Made a wonderful substitute appearance and was involved in Arsenal’s attacks ever since he came on in the 65th minute. He combined well with Sanchez and once again proved why he deserves to start for the Gunners.
