Arsenal – Manchester City: Combined XI Features 7 Gunners And 4 Citizens

The big clash takes place on Monday night with second placed Arsenal taking on third placed Manchester City. The game is even more important as the team that wins this could well have the momentum to move on ahead and win the league, if they can overtake Leicester that is.

There are many players who are world-class in these two teams and well, most would pay a ton of money just to see these two teams take on each other. With the likes of Silva, Sterling, Ozil and Sanchez on display, here is a list of a combined Manchester City and Arsenal playing XI.

Petr Cech

Cech has been exceptional for Arsenal and even though Joe Hart has had a great time for Manchester City this season, it is Cech who just shades the City number 1 due to his experience and the fact that he has made Arsenal look much better at the back.

Hector Bellerin

The speedy right-back has been one of the best players for the club in the last two years and deservedly is in this combined XI.

Laurent Koscielny

The best defender from both the teams, at least when Kompany is not fit, the French defender certainly makes it into this team easily and could pretty well be the leader in defence at least.

Nicolas Otamendi

Otamendi hasn’t always been Pelligrini’s favourite this season but in the absence of Vincent Kompany this season, Otamendi is the one who has gotten most of the good defensive work for the team.

Aleksandar Kolarov

The Serbian left-back is one of the best attacking players in the team as well and does have a lot of quality when it comes to dead ball delivery.

Yaya Toure

Bailing the team out when they needed him the most. Yaya Toure has been exceptional for City time and time again, he might not be playing to his best this season but he is extremely important for this team as he provides a lot of bite and steel in the midfield.

Santi Cazorla

Prior to his injury, Cazorla was one of the best central midfielders in the league but now will be out till March, still he makes it into this team for all that he has done thus far.

Alexis Sanchez

The Chilean might not be doing as much damage to other teams as he did last season but he easily gets into this combined XI because he can change games in a blink of an eye.

Mesut Ozil

The star of the Premier League season so far, with 13 assists to his name; Ozil has to be in the team and could well form a great partnership with the next player on the list.

David Silva

The Spaniard hasn’t played too many minutes after an injury in the international break but his silky passes would be a treat to see and paired with Ozil, who knows what kind of the magic the duo could cook up for the team?

Olivier Giroud

Had Sergio Aguero been fit or more fit than he has been this season, he would have been in the starting XI but Giroud has been the player in form and with yet another goal last weekend, he starts in this combined XI.
