Arsenal Lose Yet Another Long Term Target, And “The Running Man” Gets A Call Up To The Emirates

When Manchester United are in a mess in this transfer window, their noisy neighbors seem to have wrapped up yet another target successfully. Skysports reports that Fiorentina have reached an agreement with Manchester City over long term Arsenal target Stevan Jovetic.

A statement published on Fiorentina’s official Twitter account read: “An agreement has been reached with Manchester City Football Club for the permanent sale of the player Stevan Jovetic.”

No Jovetic deal for Arsenal?

Although initial interests were shown by Arsenal and Chelsea, the talk about the 23-year old Montenegrin slowly faded away and with a certain Argentine forward in the news, Arsenal almost forgot their long term target. Well, nothing can be done right now. While City have gone on to add valuable players to the squad, the Gunners have done exactly nothing in the market so far. The Fiorentina striker scored 40 times in his 134 appearances for them. With Juventus and Napoli also showing interest, City have swooped in and are almost on the verge to land the striker.

If City successfully conducts the transfer, they will be a force to reckon with next season and a worrying factor for other clubs in the Premier League.

Just run after your dream club’s team-bus and it might get you an opportunity to see them playing at their home ground. Exactly the case for Vu Xuan Tien, a young Vietnamese boy.

This die-hard Arsenal fan ran miles after Gunner’s team bus just to see a glimpse of his favourite players in the busy streets of Hanoi. This drew the attention of all the players and they finally stopped the bus to allow him onto the bus, an opportunity which also provided this young fellow to get the autograph of the players and also of the manager.

Now the “Running Man” (as he is being described) claims that he has been invited to the Emirates to witness his heroes play at their fortress.

Here is what he said to AFP:

“It was a dream come true for me to be invited to board the Arsenal bus and to meet coach (Wenger) and all the players, including my idol Mikel Arteta.”

“I have also been invited to see Wenger’s Arsenal team play at their home in London at Emirates Stadium, probably in August or September. It is really unbelievable,” he said.

“It will be the greatest joy of my life,” added the 20-year-old, who became an overnight media sensation after the video was posted on the Arsenal site on Tuesday.

His fitness seems to have surprised the players as they were shouting “Sign him up, sign him up” when he was chasing them.
